Blacksmithing Project Shop: Railroad Spike Throwing Axe

In this workshop, you'll start with a railroad spike and learn how to shape it into a throwing axe using basic forging techniques. You'll get an introduction to safety, and blacksmithing tools and equipment, as we go through punching and shaping the eye, shaping the blade, heat treating and fitting it to a handle. After we've completed our axes, you'll have a chance to test out your aim! Open to all skill levels -- no experience necessary.

$115 ($90 tuition + $25 materials)
Open to ages 18 and up.
