SPARC is for students and artists that have intermediate to advanced skills in a particular program area. Once you've completed the SPARC test-out process, you're able to access to the shop on particular days and times. SPARC is offered on a monthly or quarterly basis, for a very reasonable cost. Supervision is provided during SPARC hours, but you'll work completely independently on personal projects.

    If you've taken a series of classes at CAFAC or you're an experienced artist/craftsperson who's been working on your own, SPARC provides shop access and the equipment and tools for a specific program area. You provide your own project materials. Supervision is provided during SPARC hours, but SPARC users work independently on personal projects.

    SPARC users have to demonstrate their ability to work safely and competently in their chosen program area by passing a test-out. Please don't register for SPARC until you've completed that process. Learn more about SPARC.

    SPARC schedule

    • Schedule options (choose one): Mon/Wed/Sat or Tue/Thu/Sat
    • Weekday hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • Lampworking SPARC also includes monthly Open Torch Time
    • Sign up for a full quarter (best value) or for a month at a time

    We communicate regularly with SPARC users via the Signal app. We will invite you to the SPARC Signal group after your registration is complete.
